Doorway Page -
Doorway page can refer to one of two different things. 1. A device used in Black Hat SEO.
A page is created that is loaded with key words and interesting material. This page is presented to the search
engine spider and indexed. However when visitors get to the page they are redirected automatically to a different
page that may be an affiliate marketer or other exploitation Web site. The process is called cloaking and the
domains that contain these doorway pages are Shadow domains. Wikipedia seems to be aware only of these usage of the
term. Synonyms for this type of Doorway page include "Jump page" and "Bridge page."
2. A doorway page (also called a portal page) can be a legitimate page that is set up as part of search engine
optimization to provide useful information and to act as an entry point for a section. Visitors and search engines see
the same text. This apparently legitimate use of Doorway
page is presented here: http://doorwaypages.org/
Note - Definitions of Search Engine
Optimization terms are based on inferences from common usage and definitions given by other sources. Conclusions about
search engine behavior are based on understanding of the behavior of the most popular search engines. Both are subject
to error or may change. Search engine company management may define or use a term or set or change any policy in any way
they see fit, and may make these definitions and specifications public or not. These decisions and definitions are
beyond our control. Notice: Copyright
