Affiliate -
An affiliate is a Web site that gets a commission on sales that originate when a visitor clicks a
link on that site to arrive at the merchant's site. For example, your site is about the history of widgets. You have a link to Widgets
Incorporated.
When a visitor clicks that link and then buys a widget from Widgets Incorporated, you get a commission on the sales.
The experience of most people I have spoken to is that Affiliate programs do not produce much revenue. Google adwords
is discontinuing their referral program, very likely for that reason. Some sites forcibly redirect visitors from
doorway pages
pages that are attractive to affiliate Web sites. This is unethical
