CTR- CTR is an acronym for Click Through Rate. It is the percent of
displays of a link that result in a visitor clicking on that link on a
page, or the percent of page impressions or displays that result in a click on
any advertisement on a page. For example, if a page is displayed one thousand
times, and ten people click the link on that page, the CTR for the link is 1%.
The total CTR of a page that contains
Google AdSense
advertisements depends on the number of ads, the type of ads and their
positioning, as well as the type of merchandise offered and the type of visitors
to the site. Ads in the left upper portion of the page seem to be most
eye-catching and attract the most clicks. At present, Google may display duplicate
advertisements in the same page, reducing CTR. CTR for regular pages
seems to range from about 1% or less to as high as 4 or 5%, while CTR for search
pages may be even higher in my experience.

they see fit, and may make these definitions and specifications public or not. These decisions and definitions are
